Join Indian Army: NCC Special Entry Scheme 123rd Course (Apr 2026)

The Indian Army invites online applications from unmarried female candidates (including wards of Battle Casualties of Army Personnel) for grant of Short Service Commission (Non-Tech) through the NCC Special Entry Scheme (123rd Course) commencing in April 2026. This is a prestigious opportunity to serve the nation as an officer.

🗓️ Important Dates

  • Application Start: 12 August 2025 (3:00 PM)
  • Application End: 11 September 2025 (3:00 PM)
  • SSB Shortlisting: First week of November 2025 (Tentative)
  • SSB Interviews: November/December 2025

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

Must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal, or a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) with an eligibility certificate from the Government of India.

Age Limit

  • 19 to 25 years as on 01 January 2026. (Born not earlier than 02 Jan 2001 and not later than 01 Jan 2007).

Educational Qualification

  1. NCC Candidates: Graduation Degree from a recognized university with a minimum of ‘B’ Grade in the NCC ‘C’ Certificate Exam.
  2. Wards of Battle Casualties: Graduation Degree from a recognized university. NCC ‘C’ Certificate is NOT required.

    • 05 for General Category (NCC)
    • 01 for Wards of Battle Casualties

📝 Selection Process

  1. Shortlisting: Based on bonus marks awarded for:
    • NCC ‘C’ Certificate Performance: ‘A’ Grade (50 marks), ‘B’ Grade (25 marks).
    • Graduation Percentage: Up to 85%+ (50 marks).
  2. SSB Interview: A 5-day process at Selection Centers (Allahabad, Bhopal, Bangalore, Jalandhar).
  3. Medical Examination: As per Army standards.
  4. Merit List: Final selection based on SSB performance.

💼 Training & Career

  • Academy: Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.
  • Training Duration: 49 Weeks.
  • Stipend during Training: ₹56,100 per month.
  • Rank on Commission: Lieutenant.
  • Starting Salary (CTC): Approximately ₹17-18 Lakhs per annum.
  • Service Tenure: Initial 10 years, extendable up to 14 years. Option for Permanent Commission after 10 years.

⚠️ Important Documents

Candidates must carry the following original documents for the SSB interview:

  • Matriculation Certificate (for age proof)
  • 12th Class Certificate & Marksheet
  • Graduation Degree/Provisional Certificate & All Marksheets
  • NCC ‘C’ Certificate (Original – Provisional not accepted)
  • Bonus Marks Calculation Certificate (if applicable)
  • For Wards of Battle Casualties: Relevant certificates from MP Dte/Regimental Records.

💡 Important Notes

  • Candidates must not be married and must undertake not to marry until training completion.
  • Only one application per candidate is allowed.
  • Details like Name, Date of Birth, and Parents’ Name must exactly match the Matriculation Certificate.
  • Candidates can appear for only one SSB interview for a particular course.
