Southern Railway (RRC Chennai) has released a new employment notification (RRC-01/S&G/2025-26) for recruitment against the Scouts & Guides Quota for the year 2025-26. The recruitment aims to fill 14 vacancies for Level – 1 posts across Southern Railway and Integral Coach Factory (ICF).

The total of 14 vacancies are distributed as follows:

• Southern Railway: 12 Posts (2 posts each in Chennai, Tiruchirappalli, Madurai, Palakkad, Thiruvananthapuram, and Salem divisions).
• Integral Coach Factory (ICF): 02 Posts

🎯 Eligibility Criteria

1. Scouts & Guides Qualification

• Must be a President’s Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger OR a Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) Holder.
• Must have been an active member of the Scouts organization for the last 5 years (from 2020-21 to 2024-25 and continuing in 2025-26). A ‘Certificate of Activeness’ (Annexure-A) is required.
• Must have attended two National Level OR All Indian Railway level events AND two State Level events. Details must be provided as per Annexure-B.

2. Educational Qualification

• 10th pass OR
• ITI OR equivalent OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.

3. Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)

Age Relaxation is applicable for serving railway employees, widows, ex-servicemen, PwBDs, and others as per rules detailed in the official notification.

💰 Application Fee

Fee will be refunded (after deducting bank charges) only to eligible candidates who actually appear in the Written Test.

📝 Selection Process

The selection will be based on a total of 100 marks:

• A. Written Test (60 Marks)
  • 40 Objective Questions (40 Marks) + 1 Essay-type question (20 Marks).
  • Syllabus: History, Law & Promise of Scouting/Guiding, National Events, Social Service, General Knowledge, etc.
  • There is negative marking: 1/3rd marks will be deducted for every wrong answer in the objective section.
  • Duration: 1 Hour.
• B. Assessment of Certificates (40 Marks)
  • Participation in National Events: Up to 10 Marks
  • Participation in State Events: Up to 10 Marks
  • Specialized Courses: Up to 10 Marks
  • Participation in District Rallies: Up to 10 Marks
