Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, candidates must ensure they meet the following requirements:
Educational Qualification
- For Graduate Apprentices: A 3/4-year full-time Degree in the relevant branch of Engineering or General Stream (BBA, BCA, B.Com, B.Sc. Chemistry) from a government-recognized institution.
- For Technician Apprentices: A 3-year full-time Diploma in the relevant branch of Engineering (or 2 years after 12th with lateral entry) from a government-recognized institution. (One-year Diploma is not allowed).
- Passing Year: Candidates must not have passed their qualifying degree/diploma more than 5 years prior to the date of joining.
Age Limit
- Minimum 18 years as of the last date of application (31st March 2026).
Other Essential Conditions
- Must be registered on the NATS 2.0 portal (Ministry of Education).
- Must not have undergone apprenticeship training elsewhere earlier.
- Must not have completed one year or more of employment/service.
- Must not be pursuing or have completed a Postgraduate qualification.
Stipend (Salary)
Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend as per rules:
- Graduate Apprentices: Rs. 12,300/- per month
- Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Rs. 10,900/- per month
(Note: 50% of the stipend is paid by SECL and 50% by the Government of India via DBT.)
Selection Process
The selection will be based on the following criteria:
- Merit List: Candidates will be shortlisted based on the date of passing (earlier passed candidates get priority) in the qualifying degree/diploma.
- Tie-Breaker: If the date of passing is the same, the selection will be decided by:
- 1st: Higher percentage in Degree/Diploma.
- 2nd: Higher percentage in 12th/10th.
- 3rd: Seniority by Date of Birth.
- Level-Wise Selection:
- Level 1: Candidates from Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
- Level 2: Candidates from other states (only if Level 1 candidates are exhausted).

The application process is a two-step procedure. Please follow carefully:
Step 1: Register on NATS 2.0 Portal
- Visit the official NATS portal: https://nats.education.gov.in
- Complete your student registration and note down your NATS Registration Number.
- (Note: SECL is not responsible for issues on the NATS portal. Contact the support team mentioned in the notification for NATS-related queries.)
Step 2: Apply on SECL Website
- Visit the official SECL apprenticeship portal: https://apprenticeship.secl-cil.in/login.php
- Click on “New User – Register Here!” and fill in the required details (Name, NATS ID, Aadhar, etc.).
- After registration, log in using your Email ID and Password.
- Fill out the online application form in four parts:
- Part I: Basic & Address Information
- Part II: Educational Details (Upload SSC Certificate, Degree/Diploma Certificate, NATS Document)
- Part III: Upload Photograph, Signature & Aadhar Card
- Part IV: Enter Aadhar-linked Bank Details and upload Passbook copy.
- Click on “Final Submit” after reading the terms and conditions.
- Download and print the finally submitted application form for future reference.
Application Deadline: Tuesday, 31st March 2026, up to 12:00 Midnight.
Documents Required
Candidates must keep the following documents ready for upload (scanned copies) and verification:
- Printout of the online application form.
- NATS 2.0 Portal Registration Document.
- High School (10th) Mark Sheet & Certificate.
- Higher Secondary (12th) Mark Sheet & Certificate.
- Graduation/Diploma Mark Sheets (all semesters/years) and Provisional/Degree Certificate.
- Aadhar Card.
- Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC) issued on or after 01/04/2025. (OBC certificate must be for Non-Creamy Layer).
- Domicile Certificate (for candidates from Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh).
- Aadhar-linked Bank Account Passbook (first page).
- Notarized Affidavit in the prescribed format.
- Medical Fitness Certificate (in prescribed format: Form ‘O’ for Mines, or as per Apprenticeship Rules for General Stream).
Key Points to Remember
- No Employment Guarantee: This apprenticeship does not guarantee a job in SECL.
- No TA/DA: No traveling allowance will be given for document verification or medical tests.
- Jurisdiction: All disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the Bilaspur Court only.
- Posting: Mining and Mine Surveying apprentices will be posted only in Underground Mines.
