✅ Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?
Before you apply, ensure you meet the following criteria:
1. Age Limit (as on 01st January 2026)
- Minimum Age: 15 years
- Maximum Age: 24 years
Age Relaxation is applicable for:
- SC/ST Candidates: 5 years
- OBC Candidates: 3 years
- PwBD Candidates: 10 years
- Ex-Servicemen: As per rules
Your age will be calculated as per your Matriculation or Birth Certificate.
2. Educational Qualification
- Must have passed: Matriculation (10th class) from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (additional subjects not included).
- Must possess: An ITI Pass certificate in the relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT.
3. Medical Fitness
Selected candidates must be medically fit as per the standards prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961. A final medical examination will be conducted by a Railway Medical Officer.

📝 Selection Process: How Will You Be Selected?
The selection is completely merit-based and transparent. There is no written exam.
- Merit List: A trade-wise merit list will be prepared based on the percentage of marks obtained in your 10th standard (Matriculation) examination.
- Tie-Breaker: If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate will be preferred. If the age is also the same, the candidate who passed matriculation earlier will be ranked higher.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of their original certificates.
- Medical Examination: Finally selected candidates must pass the prescribed medical examination.
