GD Constable Recruitment 2026 Notification Overview
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct an Open Competitive Examination for recruitment to the posts of Constable (General Duty) in Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Secretariat Security Force (SSF), and Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles (AR). The recruitment process consists of Computer Based Examination (CBE), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), Medical Examination, and Document Verification.

Selection Process GD Constable Recruitment 2026 Notification
- Computer Based Examination (CBE): 160 marks, 60 minutes
- Shortlisting: Approximately 8 times the number of vacancies for PET/PST
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Race as per specified time limits
- Physical Standard Test (PST): Height, weight, and chest measurement verification
- Medical Examination (DME): Detailed Medical Examination
- Document Verification (DV): Verification of eligibility certificates and documents
- Final Merit List: Based on normalized CBE scores (including NCC bonus marks)

Step 1: One-Time Registration (OTR)
Visit https://ssc.gov.in and complete OTR. Note: Old website OTR (https://ssc.nic.in) will not work.
Step 2: Fill Online Application Form
- Available on https://ssc.gov.in or via ‘mySSC’ mobile app
- Capture live photograph and upload scanned signature
- Fill personal, educational, and preference details
- Submit before December 31, 2025 (23:00 hrs)
Step 3: Payment of Fee
- Fee Amount: โน100 (Rupees One Hundred Only)
- Exempted Categories: Women candidates, SC, ST, ESM (reservation eligible)
- Payment Methods: BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa/Mastercard/Maestro/RuPay Debit Card

Important Instructions

- Candidates from Govt./PSU should submit NOC from employer

- NCC bonus marks awarded provisionally; confirmed only on production of original certificate
Candidates indulging in unfair means, impersonation, or other misconduct will be debarred from SSC examinations for periods ranging from 2 to 7 years, depending on the offense.
