✅ Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

  • Essential: Graduation or an equivalent degree from a recognized University/Institution.
  • Computer Knowledge: Diploma in Computer Application (DCA) of at least 6 months or a higher degree. Knowledge of computer operation and a minimum typing speed of 20 words per minute (w.p.m.) is essential.

2. Age Limit (as on 1st January 2024)

  • General/EWS: 21 to 35 years
  • BC-I & BC-II: 21 to 37 years
  • Female (UR/EWS/BC-I/BC-II): 21 to 38 years
  • SC/ST (Male & Female): 21 to 40 years
  • PwD: Additional relaxation of 10 years.
  • Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation of up to 5 years.

3. Residential Requirement

  • Reservation benefits are applicable only to candidates domiciled in the state of Jharkhand. Candidates from other states in reserved categories will be treated as Unreserved.

📝 Selection Process

The selection process consists of three stages:

  1. Written Examination (90 Marks):
    • Duration: 2 hours (Extra time for PwD candidates).
    • Sections:
      • General English (Comprehension, Grammar, Word Power): 20 Marks
      • English Essay Writing: 10 Marks
      • Objective General Knowledge: 30 Marks
      • Numerical Ability & Reasoning (Matric standard): 30 Marks
    • Qualifying Marks: UR/EWS/BC-I/BC-II: 40%; SC/ST: 30%
  2. Computer Skill Test (Qualifying):
    • Candidates must type a passage of 100 words @ 20 w.p.m. speed.
  3. Interview (15 Marks):
    • Only candidates who qualify in the written test will be called for the interview.

Final Merit will be prepared based on the combined scores of the Written Test and Interview.

💼 Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Matrix Level 4 (7th CPC) with a pay scale of ₹25,500 – ₹81,100/-.


♿ Facilities for PwD Candidates

  • Candidates with 40% or more disability can request a scribe.
  • Extra time of 20 minutes per hour of examination will be allotted.
  • Candidates must arrange their own scribe and submit a request in the prescribed format (Appendix-I) along with a disability certificate at least 7 days before the exam at the High Court office.
