Pay Scale and Job Details
- Nature of Post: Group “B”, Non-Gazetted
- Pay Matrix: Level-10
- Pay Scale: ₹15,600 – ₹39,100 (as per 7th Pay Commission)
Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification (Essential):
A candidate must possess any one of the following:
- A degree or post-graduate Diploma in Town & Country Planning from a recognized institution. OR
- An Associate Membership of the Institute of Planners (India), American Institute of Town Planners, or Institute of Town Planners (London). OR
- A qualification equivalent to the membership of the Institute of Town Planners (India, London, or America). The notification lists 32 equivalent degrees, including Master of Planning (Urban Planning), M.Tech (Urban and Regional Planning), Bachelor of Planning, etc.
2. Age Limit (as of July 1, 2025):
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 40 years
- Candidates must have been born not earlier than July 2, 1985, and not later than July 1, 2004.
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST/OBC/Skilled Players/State Govt. Employees of UP: 5 years
- Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates of UP: 15 years (Max age 55 years)
- Ex-Servicemen/ECOs/SSCOs of UP: 3 years + period of service in the Army
3. Domicile:
- Candidates must be permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh to avail of reservation and age relaxation benefits.
Selection Process
The selection will be a three-stage process:
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Type):
- This is a screening test. Only candidates who qualify will be eligible for the Main Exam.
- Paper: One paper of 150 questions (100 from Town & Country Planning + 50 from General Studies).
- Total Marks: 300
- Duration: 2 hours
- Negative Marking: Yes, 0.33 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- Main Examination (Written, Conventional Type):
- Paper-I: General Hindi & Essay (100 marks)
- Paper-II: Town & Country Planning (200 marks)
- Candidates must score minimum qualifying marks: 40% for General/OBC/EWS and 35% for SC/ST.
- Document Verification:
- Candidates who qualify the Main Exam will be called for document verification.

Pre-requisite: You must have a One Time Registration (OTR) number before applying.
- OTR Registration: If you are a new candidate, register on the OTR portal at https://otr.pariksha.nic.in at least 72 hours before the application deadline.
- Apply Online:
